Her work is steeped in narrative and she likes to explore positivity and joy.

About the Artwork

Jayne Wright’s 'Bi Spout – Tulip Vase' extends the themes of her Mermaid Army series, which celebrates body positivity and inclusivity among year-round sea swimmers. Rooted in her life in Margate and shaped by encounters with queer swimmers and sex-positivity advocates, the work reflects a deep engagement with identity and acceptance. Featuring a dual spout form and painted in the colours of the bisexual flag, the vase is both sculptural and functional - a joyful, affirming object that honours the beauty of difference.
