Margaret Calvert - Roadworks (Woman at Work)

Margaret Calvert OBE is the graphic designer behind the UK's iconic road signs and typefaces. Her work shaped public design, and she taught for nearly 40 years, serving as Head of Graphics at the Royal College of Art.

From the creator of the 1960s road signs we still use across the UK today, Margaret Calvert created this design especially for her 2023 solo exhibition 'Roadworks' at Liminal Gallery. Featuring a bold colour palette it is synonymous with her playful practice, which she continues today.

• You may also choose to collect your artwork in person from the gallery. We will ensure that it is packed and ready for collection upon your arrival.

• We offer a 7 day returns policy on all works from our shop, on the basis that these are returned to us in the condition in which they were dispatched.
