STRANGE DREAMS

Strange Dreams is a touring series of projects specific to location, exploring material enquiries and site specific responses that are gently subversive - through painting, sculpture and sound. The works lightly hold the idea of the dream, in conversation with a place, often more specifically the idea of 'land'. 

The objects, words and sounds of a place can be collected and become part of the subject, but the dreams that come from using these resources to make work, are inevitably uncanny, psychological and often subverting gently any idea of the place that existed before. The figure enters onto the subject via found imagery, tarot readings and art historical sitters that dream away from the frame.

This is the culminating show of works made across Cornwall and the South West through residencies, exhibition projects and an ongoing open call sound collaboration piece.

Works from throughout the process will be on view, alongside a new piece created for the Margate iteration of the show.
