NATALKA LIBER

Natalka Liber was born in London, UK, where she went on to receive an MA from the Royal College of Art in 2012. Whilst she was there she also gained the Augustus Martin Award for her use of Printmaking. 

Currently living and working in Ramsgate, East Kent, her practice has transformed in recent years. With strong foundations in drawing she is transitioning into more painterly mediums and most recently sculpture. 

Recent work has been an excavation of the artist's inner landscape. Informed by the artist’s identity and heritage, the psychic weight of cultural & generational inheritance and ownership, and  the shifting persistence of spiritual resilience.

She makes images and objects to process her stance on daily experience and the dreams that bookend them. By combining repetition and ritual, she coaxes imagery from the miasma surrounding and separating reality, memory and fantasy. Her work is interwoven with personal mythologies and esoteric concepts, all feeding the creation of an otherworld with transformed figures, flora and objects.
